VerdaGPU review

Verda is the Helsinki-born GPU cloud formerly known as DataCrunch. Self-serve instances, clusters, inference. European operator with Nvidia-partner ambitions. The rename does not change how an hour ranks.

Our reading

Who this provider is for

I knew them as DataCrunch: one of the less-annoying ways to get a datacenter GPU without AWS. Verda is the same company trying to be a full AI cloud. I still rank the instance. If you want EU-flavoured NVIDIA with self-serve history, they stay on the list next to Nebius. If you only remember the blog post about the Series A, that is not a SKU.

Rent it if European teams who want a specialist GPU cloud with a self-serve path, plus people who already had a DataCrunch account.

Skip it if US-only marketplace shoppers. Reserved GB200 theatre without a quote process.

How we compare hours

Strengths

  • Self-serve GPU history (as DataCrunch), not a brand-new landing page with no scars
  • European operator, Nordic energy story they will mention, instances we can list
  • Instances, clusters, inference, pick one and do not mix units
  • Often sharper than hyperscaler list on the same NVIDIA card

Limits

  • Rename/rebrand noise. The catalog does not care
  • Not Vast.ai cheap on consumer cards
  • Platform ambitions can distract from ‘just give me the GPU’
  • Stock on the hottest NVIDIA will waitlist like everyone else

Same standard, every cloud

What we measured on Verda

Four checks we apply to every provider. This is not a score, and it is not a paid ranking.

01

Catalog

On-demand instances as published. Clusters and inference labeled separately.

02

Price signal

Specialist-cloud band. Compare to Nebius, Koyeb, RunPod Secure.

03

Product shape

GPU cloud + growing platform. Helsinki HQ, global sales motion.

04

Still verify

Region (Finland/Iceland vs elsewhere) and SKU. Sovereignty is a region, not a logo.

Rebrands do not change HBM

DataCrunch → Verda is a growth story. Your trainer cares about VRAM, interconnect, and whether the instance booted. I will use the new name. I will not pretend it is a new physics.

EU shortlist

Verda, Nebius, Koyeb, Hyperstack. Four different products. Verda is the ‘we have been renting GPUs from the Nordics’ one. Put them next to Nebius if you wanted a cloud, next to Koyeb if you wanted a PaaS, next to Hyperstack if you wanted a simple VM.

How I actually rent it

  1. 01

Ignore the new logo for five minutes

Find the GPU, region, on-demand hour.

  2. 02

    Compare Nebius and RunPod Secure

    Same card. Same commercial type.

  3. 03

    Confirm where it runs

Nordics vs other regions. Then provision.

FAQ

Verda questions

Is Verda the same as DataCrunch?+

Yes, rebrand. Same operator lineage. Rank the instance, not the brand film.

Is Verda cheaper than AWS?+

Often on GPU hours. You trade away the AWS estate. That can be the whole point.

Verda vs Nebius?+

Both want to be European-capable AI clouds. Compare region + SKU + on-demand hour. I will not pick a mascot.

Who is Verda for?+

People who want a specialist GPU cloud with EU roots and a self-serve path, not a marketplace.
